Tiriac Jr. appointed to the HVB''s Board

Ion Alexandru Tiriac, son of businessman Ion Tiriac, was appointed member of the Board of Directors of HVB Bank Romania, given that the Dutch firm Redrum, controlled by his father, owns 49.99% of shares in the local branch of the German group HVB. The Board of Directors also includes Dan Pascariu, 56, chairman of HVB, Andreas Gschwenter, vice-chairman, Manuela Plapcianu, vice-chairwoman, Florian Kubinschi, vice-chairman, who came from Banca Tiriac, and four other members: Helmut Bernkopf, ex vice-chairman of HVB, currently head of the Central and Eastern Europe division of Bank Austria, Austrians Robert Zadrazil and Heinz Meidlinger and the German Peter Koob. The nine members were proposed by the six shareholders of HVB Bank Romania: Bank Austria Creditanstalt (49.86%), Redrum International Investments (49.99%), as well as four companies belonging to the Bank Austria group (0.13%).
