Billionaire Ion Ţiriac has embarked upon a campaign toreorganise his automotive retail division, ŢiriacAuto, whichresulted in part of the regional dealers being integrated into thebiggest sales centre of the company in Bucharest, after the firstsuch operation inside the group.
Thus, Casa Auto, which sells Mercedes-Benz, Chrysler, Jeep andDodge, with a 41.5 million-euro business in 2009, according toTrade Registry data, merged by absorption with three other dealersin Bucharest, Oradea and Piteşti.
"The decision to take over three of our car dealers by Casa AutoBucharest is part of Ţiriac Holdings' strategy to improveadministrative efficiency of our national distribution and servicenetwork ŢiriacAuto," said Cristina Munteanu, Ţiriac Holdings'communication manager.
The three dealers integrated into Casa Auto, which sell five of thenine brands in the portfolio of Ţiriac Auto, posted 17 millioneuros in total business in 2009, and had 114 employees andcumulated losses of 2.3 million euros, Trade Registry datareveal.
