Toyota Romania, importer of the Japanese carmaker on the Romanian market, has budgeted a 3.3% market share for 2009, up against last year, when it amounted to 3.1%, according to statements made by George Kyriazis, managing director of the company. In 2008 Toyota sold 10,095 vehicles on the Romanian market, slightly down against the previous year. Company representatives have not provided information on the value of sales, but at an average price of 20,000 euros per car, sales could amount to 210 million euros, according to ZF estimates. "In 2009 we will open a new '3S' centre (which includes a showroom, a servicing centre and a spare parts storage facility) in the Western part of Bucharest covering 20,000 square metres, an investment made by Inchcape Motors (the British company that owns the Toyota dealers in Bucharest) and two centres in Arad and Odorhei," said the manager of Toyota Romania.
