Valvis: I don't sell to buy yachts, jets and villas in the Caribbean. I sold companies to invest in my future projects

Jean Valvis, one of the best-known businesspeople domestically,says, 18 years after first arriving in Romania, and after sellingtwo of the businesses he had built from scratch, Dorna (sold toCoca-Cola) and LaDorna (acquired by Lactalis), that he does notplan to sell the wine business or the new water one.
"My having succeeded twice to sell to the world leader of thecategory two projects started from scratch, my having achieved thistwice does not mean I am a selling machine, a reseller," explainsJean Valvis (56), who now owns Valvis Holding Group.
The group includes Aqua Carpatica water business, DomeniileSâmbureşti wine business, Dorna Agri bio cereal business andAgroElectrica, specialising in renewable energy. The group has 400employees.
The Swiss businessman born in Greece reckons that each time he soldhe did it to be able to invest in his new project, but this doesnot mean he creates businesses to sell them. "If I sold theoperation, I did it to invest in my future. I do not sell to buyyachts, jets and villas in the Caribbean".
