Why luxury catches on in Romania: "People want to show they've got money"

Noam Lenzini, managing director of Rafael & Sons Diamonds& Jewelries, an Israeli diamonds and jewellery company,explains why he believes Romania is the ideal place for hisbusiness: "Here I saw cars that I didn't see in Milan or Israel. InIsrael I think we have one or two Ferraris in all and we are awealthy country."


Lenzini is a little over 30, but has been working for thecompany he now runs for nearly ten years, writes După AfaceriPremium magazine. "I became managing director in 2005, when thecompany started to manufacture jewellery. I travel a lot. My lifeis split among Tel Aviv, Bucharest, Hong Kong, New York, Aruba,Roma, Tbilisi, Barcelona, and Paris," he says, adding that he wouldhave a really hard time picking a favourite destination, but itwould have to be between Hong Kong and Romania.
"In Romania increasingly more people can afford luxury items. On myway from the airport to the centre of Bucharest, I saw twoFerraris. Which means people have got money and want to showit."
