Which are the catalysts behind a manager's rise and what generates the entrepreneur status? What obstacles can hinder business growth and how can they be overcome, but more importantly which is the main ingredient for the development of a business that could be worth one million euros?
"An expression that very well illustrates the feelings one has as an employee and as an entrepreneur is that freedom is more difficult than slavery," says Catalina Rusu, managing partner with Avantu Ecommerce Grup, the company managing the e-commerce service through Zazazoo.ro online store.
"(...) Financial resources came both from our partners' contributions and from banking loans," said Rusu.
The entrepreneur who in 2007 launched the online store built on the concept of a single product per day, Zazazoo, based on MyBargain.biz platform, maintains she is Romania's future millionaire in euros.
But what could support this rise and what will generate this status?
The material gain purpose is not of least importance in a business. However, the higher freedom that comes with the entrepreneur status, to build a system from scratch, namely to build a business, also entails a bigger responsibility than in the case one is an employee.
In the opinion of Catalina Rusu, starting a business on your own takes courage and a lot of confidence in yourself and in the people you build your business with. In terms of obstacles hindering the development of a successful business, she says the fear of failure is the biggest hindrance in any domain.
Catalina Rusu started her own business at the age of 23 in the e-commerce domain by opening an online store, zazazoo.ro, a shopping site built on the concept of one product per day.
Zazazoo has two types of partners: suppliers, which she found both online and offline, and partners entering the affiliation system and promoting the website through the dynamic banners they are offered. The profit margin per product revolves around 10-15%.
The online store business also brought some difficulties. Thus, Catalina Rusu coped with criticism against some launched products, suppliers' or lenders' lack of confidence and problems related to the impossibility of negotiating prices for certain services.
