04.07.2007, 18:16 12

Allianz-Tiriac Pensii Private (Allianz-Tiriac Private Pensions) has already attracted 2,231 clients for voluntary pensions, according to company data made available to ZF.
Therefore over 2,200 clients have become contributors to the AZT Moderato voluntary pension fund, which collected cumulated contributions worth 19,125 RON. Information concerning the number of clients and the value of assets is from data collected on June 30th, i.e. around a month after the sale of voluntary pensions first started.
In addition, ING Asigurari (ING Insurance) has published information on the number of clients attracted by its voluntary pension products. ING Viata (ING Life) attracted 740 clients in its first month of sales, with the fund's assets standing at 18,600 RON. Aviva also registered 300 voluntary pension clients by June 29th, according to company data supplied to ZF. BCR Asigurari (BCR Insurance) was unable to provide any information on the number of clients for voluntary pension products.
Overall, the three pension management companies attracted over 3,300 clients for voluntary pensions, whereas a few months ago, the market's potential was estimated at around 200,000 clients for the whole of 2007.
"Sales in the first month were excellent and exceeded our expectations. Over the entire year, we want to target 35,000 clients for voluntary pensions; a viable figure judging by last month's performance," stated Crinu Andanut, general manager of Allianz-Tiriac Pensii Private.
How well sales of voluntary pensions (the 3rd pillar) perform will largely depend on how the campaign for joining mandatory pensions (the 2nd pillar) progresses, commented Andanut.
At present, AZT Moderato is Allianz-Tiriac's only voluntary pension fund. However, according to representatives, the company is preparing its second fund, AZT Vivace, which has already had its issuing prospectus authorised and will most likely begin sales, at the earliest, this month.
