Bucharest currently lacks high-quality architecture, this is thefirst impression of professor Radu Teaca, head of Artlinearchitecture office. For him, the biggest problem with newbuildings is land overexploitation and location, which does nottake into account the neighbouring areas, so that no architecturaldiscourse is being created any longer, reads Business Constructmonthly in its 27th of May edition. Teaca sees the benefits of thefinancial crisis in the slower pace of construction in Bucharest,but we still have to wait for high-quality architecture. Teacaseems to disagree with what has happened with Bucharest in terms ofthe city's development, and especially with the architecturalappearance of the new buildings. The biggest problem in his opinionis the way authorities have allowed the chaotic development and theoverexploitation of plots of land in downtown Bucharest through toomassive buildings.
