Auchan Romania will open a supermarket in the Iulius Mall shopping centre in Timisoara in September, which will operate temporarily until autumn 2008 until the company completes construction of a new hypermarket, located nearby. Auchan will open the supermarket on the location of the former Univers'All supermarket, following a partnership with Iulius Mall. "The space was available and ready and we decided to utilise it until the actual hypermarket opened. The store will not be called Auchan, but we will come up with another name. Next autumn, the area will be given back to Iulius Mall," stated Auchan Romania's communication manager, Mariana Dragan. The supermarket within Iulius Mall will cover a 2,600 square metre area. Representatives of the French network specified that the employees and equipment would be transferred to the Auchan hypermarket next year.
