Road haulage company Dunca Expeditii has posted a 40% increase in turnover in the first half of the year, against the same time last year. "As we covered more kilometres, our turnover increased, with our customers increasing also their businesses. We also attracted new clients," said Romeo Dunca, owner of the company. Among the clients of Dunca Expeditii are Procter & Gamble, the consumer goods producer, Linde Gras, one of the leading gas suppliers on the market, and Euroholding, a constructions company. Given the growth rate registered for the first six months of the year, Dunca Expeditii's planned growth remains on target for this year, with the company expected to reach business worth around 30 million euros. Last year, the company saw a 22 million-euro turnover, up by almost 50% against 2005. Recently the authorities decided to ban vehicles weighing more than 7 tonnes from national roads in counties affected by the heat wave, between 10:00 am and 10:00 pm. Dunca explained that this has caused problems for the company's activity, and that drivers are having a hard time coping with the current situation, as they are required to work throughout the night.
