The most eagerly awaited Dacia model, the first SUV in thehistory of the local carmaker, for which dealers have put togetherwaiting lists like those for a Ferrari or Rolls Royce was launchedon the local market yesterday. Duster's launch marks the thirdconsecutive increase in production for the Mioveni plant, to 1,350cars a day, ten more than at the end of last year.
"Dacia's manufacturing pace is set by demand. For instance, inMarch, we will work three Saturdays because of Duster's launch. Thepace went up to 1,350 cars per day, " said Jerome Olive, generalmanager of Automobile Dacia.
The number of orders taken by Dacia's dealers thus far, threeweeks from the moment price information was released, is still asecret the company officials keep, with the data to be releasedafter April 20th, once the first cars are delivered to theirbuyers.
