Hotels to be delivered in Bucharest after nearly 30m-euro investments

Bucharest's accommodation capacity could rise by nearly290 rooms this year, i.e. by 2.5%, if hotels Europa Royale in theUnirii area, Marshal in Doboranţi, Carol I in Piaţa Rosetti andPremier Palace close to Ghencea stadium will open their doors toclients, as announced by investors.
The four hotels are developed by the Lithuanians at Europa Group,the Antonescu family and businessmen Teodor Meiţă and MarianDumitru.
Their opening would amount to an estimated 28.3 million euros inoverall investments on the Bucharest market in a year whenaccommodation demand is showing slight signs of a rebound after anover 30% decline two years ago. "Works are still under way insidethe hotel (Marshall in Dorobanţi i.e.), that is why we will not beable to open it in spring. The hotel will most likely open in thesummer," said Ana Maria Moanţă, marketing manager of MarshalTurism, held by the Antonescu family.
Works are also still under way at the Royale hotel in the Uniriiarea, in which the Lithuanians at Europa Group invested 11.5million euros, with the opening previously announced for Februaryof this year being put off. Another awaited hotel in Bucharest isCarol I in Piaţa Rosetti. The project was announced back in 2007 byTeodor Meiţă, owner of the McMonis restaurant in Bucharest.
