Industrializarea Laptelui Harghita (Milk Industrialisation Harghita), a company producing powdered milk, intends to achieve total revenues worth 5.75 million euros (18 million RON) this year, 23% less than last year, when it saw revenues worth 7.47 million euros (23.4 million RON). The bulk of last year's sales was generated by the company's participation in the national programme of giving free powdered milk to infants (babies up to 12 months of age). Industrializarea Laptelui Harghita won tenders organised by the Ministry of Health and Families in 26 counties. The company collected 11.4 million litres of milk last year. Most of the suppliers of the Harghita-based company are individual agricultural producers, which supply 33% of all raw materials. Sighisoara-based Hochland is the second most important supplier of Industrializarea Laptelui Harghita and accounts for 10% of supplies.
