The top officials of the Romanian capital market present at ZF'sopen editorial meeting ZF Expert said the listing of FondulProprietatea (Property Fund) is an example that big things canhappen in Romania, as well.
The chairman of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, an official ofmanager Franklin Templeton, the broker that promotes the Fund inthe biggest road show in Europe, as well as analysts and investmentmanagers were present yesterday at ZF's editorial meeting, and wereunanimous in saying that the listing of Fondul Proprietatea is "thechance of a new beginning for the Bucharest Stock Exchange."
"A successful listing of the Fund on the Stock Exchange will beindicated by parameters such as the volume of trading andcapitalisation, with expectations being high in these respects. Ithink daily trading with Fondul Proprietatea shares can amount toat least 3 million euros," said Stere Farmache, chairman of theBucharest Stock Exchange. In the past year, the daily average valueof share transactions has been 5 million euros.
The shares of Fondul Proprietatea are the most awaited shares onthe Bucharest Stock Exchange, considering that the listing allowsbig investment funds access to the most valuable company inRomania, as well as allowing former owners to receive theircompensation.
The chairman of BSE gave assurances that there would be no tradingproblems if trading volumes were high in the first day, with thetrading platform being tested in the past few months.
