Romaqua expects 130m-euro business after merger

Romaqua, the producer of mineral water Borsec, is expected to reach a 130 million-euro turnover this year, after it recently started to merge its entities. "In conducting this merger, we are following the model of big groups in the same field, which are structured on efficient acquisitions, production and distribution, and unified strategies and policies," said Radu Lazaroiu, general manager of Romaqua Group. Company representatives also said the legal restructuring, to form one company - Romaqua Group Borsec, would grant easier access to bank loans. This year, Romaqua shareholders approved the taking out of a 31 million-euro loan from BCR in order to fund the construction of a new brewery. The group's new facility, which will be located in the Lancram village in Alba county and will start production next year, with investments estimated at 35-37 million euros. The Romaqua group has conducted investments worth over 50 million euros since 1998, and will exceed 100 million euros next year.
