State to sell shares in Aeroporturi Bucuresti

11.04.2007, 19:44 7

The state will be able to sell shares of Compania Nationala Aeroporturi Bucuresti (The Bucharest National Airports Company), set up through the merger of the Henri Coanda airport and the Aurel Vlaicu airport, to Romanian or foreign companies, without giving up the majority stake, though, stated ministry sources. Last week, the merger of the two airports was approved by the Government, so that a new national company, under the name of "Aeroporturi Bucuresti" (Bucharest Airports) will be created. The Ministry of Transport will hold 80% of the shares and the Property Fund 20%. In a draft for the merger of airports, it is stated that the new company will be the focal point of attraction for investors, with its listing to be a major event on the stock exchange.
