Romtelecom set to launch four or five TV channels by yearend

Romtelecom, ranking third on the domestic TV services market,has officially launched the Dolce Sport channel, which startedbroadcasting last month, and the company wants to have 4-5 TVchannels in its portfolio by the end of the year.

"The official launch of Dolce Sport will be in the near futurefollowed by the introduction of some new thematic, music and film,TV channels, under the Dolce brand, which will cement the company'sentertainment provider position, through which we want to stand outon the market," stated Ovidiu Ghiman, strategy and businessdevelopment executive manager.

Romtelecom's strategy is to gain clients and audience throughcontent. This is why the company is interested in acquiring as muchsporting content for Dolce Sport as possible.

Romtelecom, which has gained the third position on the TV marketin less than four years, with a little more than 900,000 clients,plans to become the leader of the market in 2012, outrunning thusRCS&RDS, even though the group owned by Zoltan Teszari has 2.7million TV clients.
