Almost three in one hundred Western Europeans buy a Dacia

Dacia had a 2.3% share of the Western European market in August,according to statistics of the European Automobile Manufacturers'Association (ACEA), with nearly three Western European in 100buying a car manufactured in Mioveni (Dacia plant).


Sales of the Romanian brand went up by nearly 1% in August andby 4% in July compared with the corresponding periods of last year,to nearly 15,700 cars, after Dacia had experienced a slight declinesince the beginning of the summer. The Romanian carmaker climbed tothe 16th position of this year's ranking of best-selling brands inEurope, leaving Suzuki behind.
While most carmakers are taking a step back this year, and cuttingproduction following the completion of car scrappage schemes inWestern Europe, Dacia continues to boost its production by over20%. With the Duster SUV starting production, by the end of theyear the carmaker will produce an overall 330,000 vehicles, withmore than 300,000 being accounted for by exports to WesternEuropean markets. At present Dacia's production pace is of around1,400 units per day, the highest ever reached on the Mioveniplatform.
