Angelli to spend 1m euros on promotion

11.04.2005, 18:58 10

Astese Production, the company producing and selling the Angelli sparkling wines on the Romanian market, will this year spend over one million euros on the promotion of existent brands and of some new products it plans to launch, said marketing manager Marius Obritenschi.

"Our product portfolio will be completed with a series of sparkling wine brands of international companies that are part, beside us, of the Henkell&Sohnlein group", Obritenschi also said.

For this year, the management of Astese projects 10% higher turnover, similar to growth registered last year when sales exceeded 11 million euros.

The company''s investment plans for 2005 are directed toward the expansion and modernisation of production facilities and toward the development of customer networks.

"Our company is in full expansion, we plan to expand our current production capacity and we will also make investments to improve human resources", Obritenschi also said.

Beside the well-known products, several new products have been added to the product portfolio of Astese firm since 2004.

"We have launched the German sparkling wine brands Henkell Trocken, Sohlein Brilliant, Deinhart, Ruttgers, as well as the French champagne brand Alfred Gratien. The Hungarian sparkling wine brands Torley Charmant Doux, Torley Talisman, Torley Rose have also been introduced by us on the Romanian market", Marius Obritenschi also stated.

The distribution of Astese Production products is handled by 100 specialised companies and by over 600 agents, and the company''s management says there are more than 40,000 active sale points in Romania.

According to the firm''s officials, the production capacity stands at over 25 million bottles annually.

"For the time being, we are producing below capacity since the market cannot absorb so much. A possible solution to this problem is to bolster exports, which so far have been sporadic and only to countries such as Serbia or Bulgaria", Obritenschi also said.

Astese was founded in 1994, to produce, store and sell alcoholic drinks. At the end of 2003 it became part of the German Henkell&Sohnlein concern, one of the world''s major producers of sparkling wines. At present, the company has 90 employees.
