Asesoft Distribution targets 135m dollars this year

Asesoft Distribution, a Romanian IT distribution company, part of the Asesoft group, estimates a 135 million-dollar (90.8 million-euro) turnover this year, up 30% from the 104 million dollars (76 million euros) posted in 2007. Last year, the company's business climbed by 44% against 2006 and exceeded the company's initial forecast by around 9 million dollars. Asesoft officials attributed this growth to the company's expansion of its portfolio of products from companies such as Microsoft and Western Digital. Iulian Stanciu, general manager and shareholder of the company, specified that the trend of the exchange rate had little impact on Asesoft's business. "However, an increase in the euro or dollar exchange rates against the RON could lead to an increase in the price of the products we import, and, implicitly, to lower sales," said Stanciu, adding another factor that created an indirect impact was the increase in lending costs, which has resulted in a lower appetite for consumption.
