Porsche Romania, the official importer of VW-Audi Group and Porsche brands estimates 2,900 unit sales for Audi. "Audi sales on the domestic market in 2008 will increase by around 13% to approximately 2,900 units," stated Mihai Halmagianu, Audi brand manager with Porsche Romania. The official says the average price of an Audi sold this year will be around 45,000 euros (VAT excluded). If 2,900 units were sold, then Audi's turnover on the Romanian market would reach 130 million euros, an increase of almost 15% compared with 2007. According to previous statements of George Sanduleac, former Audi brand manager, who is now Porsche brand manager, the average price of an Audi sold in 2007 was 44,000 euros, an increase of 20% on the previous year. As previously stated by Michael Schmidt, general manager of Automobile Bavaria, the main BMW dealer on the domestic market, the average price of a BMW sold in 2007 stood at 40,000 euros, while a Mercedes-Benz sold for an average of 38,000 euros.
