Automobile Dacia boosts production as of June

27.04.2009, 16:32 4
Automobile Dacia announced that production of the Mioveni plant will increase starting in June from 1,200 units per day to 1,340 units per day, following the demand rise on the foreign markets in the wake of schemes run in Western European countries to support vehicle markets. In the first quarter of the year, Dacia exports reached almost 90% of the production, exceeding the approximately 75% share predicted previously by the company. In the first three months of the year, Dacia manufactured 52,869 vehicles and sold 45,555 on the foreign market, while on the Romanian market, it sold 8,682 units. The difference was covered by means of stocks set up at the end of last year, when sales were down by over 60%. The increase in production of Dacia cars from 1,085 units per day, at the beginning of the year, to 1,200 units in March and to 1,340 units as of June 15th has been motivated by the rise in orders in European countries, which are conducting schemes aimed at stimulating the renewal of the vehicle fleet.
