Benvenuti expands network by ten stores

16.02.2007, 21:06 6

Benvenuti footwear store network, set up in 2004 by Dan Pavel, one of the founders of Leonardo, intends to open ten new stores in the country this year, following a 600,000-euro investment. This value does not include the merchandise stock required for the opening of each new store. "The expansion targets both cities where we are already present, like Bucharest, Cluj, Constanta, Pitesti, and new locations such as Bacau or Iasi. We intend to expand by means of a franchise, as well," stated Miruna Dumitrescu, the PR manager of Benvenuti, the company managing the store network by the same name. Benvenuti announced it would also develop the Oxus brand, after the end of last year had seen the opening of the first store of this type in Oradea. Oxus stores sell only leather articles. The company management could not for the time being provide further details on development plans for the new brand. Currently, the company owns 19 stores, two of them franchised, located in Ploiesti and Ramnicu Valcea. According to information provided by company representatives, in order for a franchisee to open a Benvenuti store, it requires 60,000 euros to fit out the space allocated and another 60,000 euros for the cash flow, i.e. payment for goods and other additional expenses.
