30.07.2007, 17:45 19

The German group BMW will take over some of the shares of EBS Romania, a producer of economic software solutions, which handles some of the IT systems of the German carmaker. EBS posted business worth 3.2 million euros last year. Daniel Metz, general manager of EBS, told ZF that steps had already been taken to this effect. "We have given our verbal consent for BMW to become a shareholder of the EBS group in Romania," said Metz, who did not provide details on the value of the transaction. Contacted by ZIARUL FINANCIAR to confirm the information, BMW had not provided an answer by the time this issue was ready for print. The company is held by Daniel Metz (75% of the shares), a Romanian who worked in Germany for several years, and by another German national, Andreas Thomas Kimberley (the remaining 25% of the shares). The EBS management announced at the beginning of this year that it would take over the management of the IT systems of 24 plants of the BMW group. This project is part of the company's development plans, which entail the implementation of a new type of services of IT outsourcing, namely BPO - Business Process Outsourcing.
