BSB Fashion slows down expansion

13.11.2008, 19:10 21

BSB Fashion Romania, local subsidiary of Greek clothing retailer BSB, will expand its store network by three stores, in Suceava, Bucharest and Chisinau (the Republic of Moldova) this year, following an around 270,000-euro investment, but for the next two years, the expansion plan includes just two openings. "We have, indeed, slowed down our growth strategy lately due to the current economic situation, but for the time being, I wouldn't say we are recording a lower customer flow. Our sales are in line with values budgeted for this year, but our financial results have to some extent reflected the exchange rate fluctuation," Cornelia Nicolae, country manager of BSB Fashion Romania, told ZF. The company, which owns 13 stores in cities such as Bucharest, Constanta, Iasi, Galati, Timisoara and Cluj, has this week opened a store in Malldova shopping centre in Chisinau and will go on to expand in Iulius Mall, Suceava, which will be launched on November 15 and in Fashion House Outlet, located 13 kilometres from Bucharest, next to the Bucharest-Pitesti motorway, scheduled to open at the end of this month.
