Bucharest hotel operators expect rebound in 2011

General managers of five-star hotels in Bucharest believe 2010will bring them a turnover increase as a result of an economicrebound and of higher demand for accommodation and event organisingservices, reveal talks at an event about trends on the hotelmarket, organised by Trend Hospitality. Sonia Nastase, generalmanager of Bucharest's five-star hotel Howard Johnson, says demandfor accommodation on the hotel market has been on the rise in thepast few months.

On the other hand, Igael Porecky, general manager of five-starhotel JW Marriott, who has budgeted a 4-6% turnover increase fornext year, believes that although the hotel market is starting torebound, it is still difficult to raise accommodation fees in orderto boost revenues per room. Michelle Meoni, CEO of the ContinentalHotels chain, shares the same opinion, believing it is as yet hardto predict what will happen over the next period.
