CallPoint: Romanians with telephony and cable TV subscriptions are the biggest debtors

Romanians' unpaid bills are generating anew quickly developing business on the Romanian market, that ofdebt collection. An example of a company operating in this field isCallPoint, a company that also provides call centre servicesdomestically for 12 clients in fields such as retail, tourism, IT,telecom and financial.

"A rising number of industries in Romania, utilities, cable andtelephony operators, are coping with a large number of debtors,"Gregoire Vigroux, co-founder of CallPoint New Europe told ZF.According to him, the average debt collection rate ranges between70 and 80%.
In Romania, CallPoint provides debt collection services for a bankand a financial institution. Also, it provides call centre servicesto a retail company and sales by phone to a telecom operator.
The company estimates 2m-euro turnover this year in Romania and7m-euro turnover for the entire group. Last year, CallPoint posted183,000-euro losses amid 860,000-euro turnover.
