Car dealers seek to ensure client loyalty thorough service centres

With car sales down 25% on last year, when the market plunged bynearly 60%, premium car dealers seek to attract already existingcustomers to official service centres, writes Business Magazinweekly.


"In 2010 Mercedes-Benz opened four new authorised servicecentres with five other petitions in the course of being approvedfor commercial vehicles," said Philipp Hagenburger, head of theafter sales in Mercedes-Benz Romania. There was a decline inservice centre-derived revenues, according to the Mercedes-Benzmanager, but it was around 5% lower compared with carregistrations, which were down nearly 26%, according to the DrivingLicence and Vehicle Registration Service.
In order to secure customer loyalty, Mercedes-Benz launchedeconomic packages for cars no longer under warranty, as well asprogrammes to extend the warranty for new cars sold.
Toyota Romania, importer of the Japanese brand on the Romanianmarket, extended the warranty period from three to five years or160,000 km. In addition, even customers who bought a Toyota modelbefore the implementation of this programme can pay a difference toextend the warranty.
