City Plaza invests in expanding accommodation capacity

Transilvania Development (TD), the company that manages the Cluj-Napoca-based four and three-star hotels, City Plaza and Central Plaza respectively, intends to invest approximately 5 million euros in the next two ears in expanding accommodation capacity in City Plaza. The company acquired approximately 1,000 square metres of land last year near the existing construction, with the acquisition price standing at around 500 euros per square metre. "The new wing will double the size of the existing accommodation facilities, with the hoteles capacity reaching 90 rooms. We will also have three new restaurants with seating capacities ranging from of 40 to 300, as well as a swimming pool," Nina Moldovan, general manager of City Hotels Romania told ZF. The hotel currently has a 42-room capacity, a 150-seat restaurant, a 20-seat coffee shop and a conference hall. The company management estimates an approximately 2 million-euro turnover for this year for its two hotels, with the value representing an approximately 10% increase against the figures for 2006.
