Tyre manufacturer Danubiana Bucharest, controlled by businessman Gelu Tofan, intends to sell several plots of land totalling more than 40 hectares together, located on the company's platform in Popesti-Leordeni, 8 kilometres south of Bucharest, according to the RASDAQ. On average, plots of land in the area sell for prices ranging between 20 to 30 euros per square metre. At the beginning of the year, Danubiana sold two plots with a total surface area of 4 hectares at 31.5 euros / square metre. If this price is taken into consideration, then the value of the plots the company intends to sell could amount to 12.8 million euros. The intention to sell the land is to be debated in the General Meeting of Shareholders, scheduled for the end of October. Company representatives could not be contacted for comment. Danubiana specialises in designing and manufacturing tyres for road vehicles, trucks, buses, tractors and farming machinery. The company owns about 100 hectares of land in Popesti-Leordeni. Businessman Gelu Tofan, the company's majority shareholder, announced at the beginning of the year he intended to sell about 40 hectares of land, and use another 35 hectares to develop a residential project.
