The Dona drugstore chain, one of the leading players in Romanian pharmaceutical retail, intends to hire around 100 people by the end of this year, in order to support plans to open 7 drugstores across Romania. "The 1,000-employee mark was reached last year in May, and the percentage of staff hired has been constant over the last six months. The number of personnel is now twice as high compared with the beginning of 2007," says Maria Comsa, HR manager of the Dona drugstores network. After completion of the recruitment plan, Dona drugstores could end the year with 1,250 employees. There are currently 133 Dona drugstores in leading Romanian cities. As for the new drugstores, the HR manager says the locations have yet to be decided on. Comsa specified that a drugstore employs eight staff on average.
