Duster SUV, the first such car made by Automobile Dacia inMioveni, saw production reach almost 36,000 units in five monthssince the start of manufacturing, whose value reaches more than 550million euros according to ZF calculations.
The turnover posted by Duster from March through July can becompared with Dacia's full-year turnover in 2004, when it startedmanufacturing the Logan model.
Dacia will increase production of Duster from the current 20 unitsper hour to 25 SUVs in October and then to 35 at the beginning ofnext year, to reduce the waiting time for its customers, which mayreach as much as six months in Western Europe.
Duster will thus "push" the production of the carmaker in Miovenito 330,000 vehicles this year, close to the maximum capacity, with90% of these vehicles being sold abroad. Dacia's SUV production mayreach over 120,000 units next year, according to ZF calculation, ata daily pace of over 460 units from the current 260.
