The Cluj-based group of firms Energobit, which operates in the electric equipment manufacturing industry, estimates its turnover will rise by at least 20% this year, after the turnover reported in 2006 amounted to about 52 million euros.
"The growth estimated for this year takes into account the predicted trend of the industrial and commercial investments, as well as the programme of investment specific to the energy sector. We estimate the expansion of our production capacities will allow us to attain higher levels of productivity and to respond more efficiently to the high demand of the market," Peter Pal, the executive vice-president of Energobit told ZF Transilvania.
The group saw its turnover rise by 30% and reported a gross profit of 10% last year. "The emergence of massive private investments in the industrial and commercial sectors was the main catalyst behind this growth. The development of some important investments, backed by investors with very high standards regarding the level of quality, generated a change on the market and imposed a standard to domestic companies that is similar to those of big multinationals operating in this field," stated Peter Pal.
The launch of new products created by Energobit, whose sales exceeded the company's estimates by 300% in some cases, was another catalyst behind the growth seen in 2006, according to Pal.
Energobit's development projects for this year include completion of the new production facility and office space building in the Tetarom 1 Cluj-Napoca industrial park on top of the list.
The rented plot takes up 12,000 square metres, out of which 4,500 square metres will be occupied with the production facility, according to the company's representatives.
The construction will also include a 3,000 square metre office area. The construction works, which entail a total investment worth approximately 3,5 million euros, are scheduled to finish this July.
