Farmexim to focus on distribution

Pharmaceuticals distributor Farmexim intends to invest about four million euros over the next three years to develop its national distribution network.

"We will take our development strategy further by turning three domestic branches into regional centres. Investments will also be aimed at the expansion of the central warehouse of Bucharest and the modernisation of all territorial centres, with the main target being to increase the storage capacity and bring all warehousing conditions in line with European standards," Daniela Troncota, marketing manager with the company, told ZF Transilvania.

At present, the countrywide distribution is handled through a network of 14 warehouses and a fleet of over 150 vehicles. "The central warehouse of Bucharest has a capacity of 13,000 cubic metres and has all the equipment in line with the Good Distribution Practice standards," Troncota also specified. Farmexim management projects turnover of over 71 million euros for 2005, 35% higher as compared to last year and more than 10% of the retail market. "The projected growth is linked to the fact that the drugs market is growing in Romania, and last yeara??s opening of the four new branches in Ploiesti, Bacau, Sibiu and Tg. Mures will significantly increase our market share," Daniela Troncota also said.

The company works with over 70 drugmakers, with import products accounting for 95% of the companya??s offer. "Farmexim is an exclusive representative of Octapharma AG company of Romania, whose product portfolio is focused on plasmatic derivatives," said the marketing manager. transilvania@zf.ro
