Five top executives on the leasing market have changed theirjobs in the past year and only one of them is back at the helm ofanother leasing company, a market that last year plummeted by 72%,being the hardest hit sector of the economy. The five managers areAdrian Alexe (general manager of Tiriac Leasing), Cristian Sendroiu(executive manager of Tiriac Leasing), Mircea Dihel (generalmanager of OTP Leasing), Mihaela Mateescu (general manager ofRaiffeisen Leasing) and Claudiu Stanescu (general manager of BCRLeasing). Of them, only Dihel (32) moved from the management of OTPLeasing to that of Tiriac Leasing, while all the others have exitedthe industry for the time being. BCR, Tiriac and Raiffeisen areamong the biggest firms on the leasing market. "There aresituations where managers leave as it's frustrating to see thebusiness shrink, after 30-40% increases in previous years; somecannot stand it. In other situations, there's pressure coming fromshareholders, who want to put cheaper people at the helm of thecompany," states George Butunoiu, one of the best-known headhuntersin Romania.
