Flagship brands push up sales for Interbrew

16.11.2004, 00:00 9

The Romanian branch of the world-leading beer company Interbrew recorded a growth in sales of over 12% in the first nine months of the year thanks to the development of its main brands. "At the moment we account for 21% of the market and rank third among brewers in Romania. We have reached this position because of the development of our "flagship" brands - Stella Artois, Beck's and Bergenbier. Even though this year did not seem as good as 2003 due to the bad weather, we still witnessed growth and I am positive we will manage to break two important records this year: selling 2 million hectolitres of beer in one year; and beating the 100 million-euro turnover we made in 2003," explained Mihai Albu, Interbrew Romania's general manager. Besides the three beer brands made in Romania, Interbrew imports two major international brands, the Belgian specialist beers Leffe and Hoegaarden. ZF
