Fleet Management Services, a company specialising in car fleet management, expects to double its turnover to 5 million dollars (4 million euros) in 2007, compared with the 2 million-dollar turnover derived last year. The estimates are based on the increase in the number of vehicles operating in the car fleet managed by FMS.
"There is an upward trend on the domestic market regarding the outsourcing of the car fleet management and it is expected to speed up throughout this year, when we estimate the car fleet we manage will amount to approximately 5,000 vehicles," stated Daniel Ivan, executive officer of Fleet Management Services.
The company derived turnover worth 2 million dollars in 2006, considering the car fleet it managed was made of over 2,500 cars, utility vehicles and trucks, totalling an 85% rise against 2005. The vehicles belonging to pharmaceutical companies such as A&D Pharma, Mediplus and Sensiblu, which amount to 900 in total, account for the bulk of the car fleet managed by FMS. The company's newest clients are Perfetti van Melle, Bricostore, Robert Bosch, Buderus Romania and M-I Petrogas, which signed contracts with FMS for outsourcing the car fleet management services in late last year. The car fleet owned by the sweets manufacturer Perfetti van Melle, comprising of 140 vehicles, is managed by the company's regional branch based in Cluj and is the largest car fleet owned by a client from outside Bucharest. FMS also has regional offices in Timisoara and Iasi. "We intend to open new offices in 2007 and hope the first office will start functioning in Brasov before March 1," stated Ivan.
The expansion of the company's office network throughout the country this year will mainly depend on the increase in the number of vehicles managed in each geographical region. FMS also plans to open the next 3-4 offices in major Romanian cities such as Constanta, Galati, Craiova, Sibiu and Oradea.
