Head of Automobile Dacia targets 10-15% business increase

07.06.2007, 20:49 11

Automobile Dacia (Dacia Automobiles) estimates it will post a 10-15% increase in turnover this year, against the 1.6 billion euros seen last year, said the company's chairman, Fran?ois Fourmont (photo). "We will see a 10-15% turnover increase against the 1,600 million euros last year, excluding the export of CKDs (i.e. complete kits needed to assemble a vehicle) by RIR (Renault Industrie Roumanie)," said Fourmont. The exports conducted by Renault Industrie Roumanie to the other Logan production facilities brought a turnover worth 335 million euros. Fourmont said the reasons behind the increase in turnover were the rising levels of exports, which now account for over half of production, and the expansion of its product range, which will also include a Logan pick-up truck, alongside the Logan VAN launched at the beginning of the year, and the LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) driven Logan. "Second, in 2006, in addition to the Logan station wagon, the Dacia pick-up model was launched on the market. In 2007, we are also selling the MCV and the VAN, which retail at a higher price compared with the old pick-up vehicle," added Fourmont.
