Heat and natural gas, more expensive

04.09.2000, 00:00 11

Heat and natural gas prices last Friday went up by 25% on the average, following devaluation of the domestic currency and the increase in international oil and natural gas prices.

The Government approved the increase of the national benchmark price for the heat supplied to population to 350,000 lei/Gcal, including VAT, up from 280,000 lei/Gcal.

The approval of the national benchmark price triggers the increase in the price of one Gcal supplied by Termoelectrica company. The natural gas price went up by 16% starting Friday as well, to 1,272 lei/cubic metre, from 1,100 lei, according to a notice signed by Industry and Trade minister Radu Berceanu.

The price is settled for an exchange rate of 20,500 ROL/USD and does not include VAT. The price is going to be negotiable for the agreements concluded with direct consumers.
