Impuls Leasing, which launched last April, granted financing worth 117m euros in the first half of the year, mostly for the acquisition of automobiles and utility vehicles.
Consequently, the company is edging closer to the leasing market leaders. Top ten companies that published their H1 figures include VB Leasing, with financing worth 90m euros, and Motoractive Leasing, with 110m euros.
In late June, Impuls Leasing had a portfolio made up of 15,159 contracts. During this period, the company's net income reached 200,000 euros (750,000 RON).
"The increase was prompted by soaring activities in constructions, translated into a rising number of projects needing logistic support, and also by the company's territorial expansion and its focus on retail," states Razvan Diaconescu, general manager of Impuls Leasing.
Over 66% of the amounts the company released in the first half of the year was used for the acquisition of cars and utility vehicles, 18% for trucks and 12% for construction equipment. Real estate leasing accounted for 2.5% of the total, while the rest was financing for the acquisition of equipment, other than construction equipment.
"Construction and industrial equipment has witnessed a significant increase, with the trend in the field of automobiles also maintaining, though. At the same time, since May, Impuls Leasing has focused on the development and promotion of its new service - real estate leasing, with numerous projects being under discussion," explains Diaconescu.
Impuls Leasing aims to release financing worth 270m euros this year, banking on growth for construction equipment, real estate leasing and on other market segments.
The company is 90% controlled by Swiss holding Impuls Leasing International. Razvan Diaconescu holds 5% of the company, like Michael Unterguggenberger.
Impuls Leasing currently has 100 employees and 8 territorial units in Ploiesti, Pitesti, Craiova, Constanta, Cluj, Iasi, Timisoara and Bucharest. Most of the company's clients, 60%, are legal persons.
The leasing market in 2007 rose by 54% to 4.9bn euros, but could slow down this year.
