Businessman Marius Ivan, one of the founders of the paint and enamels business Dufa Romania and the former general manager of Henkel Bautechnik Romania, this year invested some 100 million euros on the real estate market in Bucharest, together with Irish investors.
The largest part of the funds, derived especially from banking loans, was earmarked for acquisition of plots of land so as to develop some major projects.
"We intend to launch a few major projects on the real estate development market in the following 3 to 5 years. These projects will amount to some 300 - 350 million euros," Marius Ivan, chairman of Creativ group of companies that operates on the real estate market, told ZIARUL FINANCIAR.
Marius Ivan holds 50% of Creativ, while the rest is owned by Kenaston Holdings, controlled by Irish investors.
"Once having formed this partnership, we launched Creativ Global Property group, where we will develop all of our future projects. The company will focus on carrying out development projects in all the important sectors: commercial, retail, residential and industrial," says Ivan.
The businessman's name is tied to the development of enamels and paints company D?fa from scratch, one of the top four players in this field. Marius Ivan has made two exits over the last year by selling 40% in the D?fa business, and 35% of construction materials manufacturer Henkel Bautechnick Romania. Ivan collected some 7.2 million euros from the first transaction, while the one sealed with Henkel brought him some 13 million euros.
The amounts derived from the exits have been invested in the real estate company Creativ and in Global Real Invest network, which deals in construction materials, a business in which German group Interpares Mobau Interbaustoff is also involved.
Ivan entered the real estate business, where he already holds a project of class A offices - North Gate Center, in Pipera, - put at 21 million euros. The two buildings part of this project will have a lettable area of 21,000 square metres, and are to be completed by the end of this year.
"We will soon announce a new major project in Pipera. We intend to select an internationally renowned architect for it, to work with our local team," Ivan says.
