Great Britain's ambassador to Romania, Martin Harris, opened theBSE's trading session yesterday and spoke about the importance ofdeveloping relationships with the London Stock Exchange, afterFondul Proprietatea (FP) was listed in Bucharest.

The British ambassador's presence at BSE is a sign major foreigninvestors have renewed their interest in the Romanian capitalmarket.
FP floatation is the "sparkle" that is likely to revive olderprojects and partnerships, considering the BSE and LSE have signeda collaboration protocol in the past.
"After FP was listed, I wanted to reach the BSE as soon aspossible. I believe there is high potential for BSE growth in thefuture. LSE is the centre of the world's financial industry and hasaround 3,000 companies of over 70 countries. It is also animportant moment to develop the relationship between the BSE andLSE. The LSE is aware of the major events in Bucharest and Ibelieve the LSE would be interested in tighter collaboration withthe BSE," said Martin Harris.
