Medsana private clinic operator, controlled by Athens MedicalCenter group of Greece, says it will launch a 30m-euro investmentin a private hospital as soon as it "sees the Romanian economicenvironment stabilise".
The company has had the intention to invest in this project fora while, with the first information emerging as early as 2007.
"At this moment, unfortunately, forecasts for the second half ofthe year are contradictory. We hope that nationally the economywill post a slight increase that should provide safety to ourshareholders," said Vassilis Chaniotis, general manager of CentrulMedical Medsana. He added that delays in starting hospitalconstruction were caused by the unfavourable economic climate.
"According to the feasibility study we drew up for the hospital,the necessary headcount for this project amounts to around 300people", Medsana's boss said.
The deadline for Medsana completion is two years after the startof construction works.
