20.06.2006, 21:03 8

Stanley Mendonca, the current marketing director of Pfizer Portugal, has been installed as the new general manager in the Romanian office of the American drug maker Pfizer. Representatives specified he would take his new position in the "coming weeks or months." Mendonca will take the position that was until recently held by Regis Lhomme, who in turn has been appointed to the helm of the Pfizer division in Russia. Regis Lhomme has been managing Romanian operations since 2000. The change at the top of Pfizer's management is not the only one on the Romanian pharmaceutical market that has been announced of late. Terapia also made changes, after Stephen Stead announced that he would leave the helm of the Romanian producer, after having reached an agreement on the subject with the majority shareholder, the Indian company Ranbaxy. Then, the Dutchman Peter Burema was appointed to fill the position left vacant by Stead, and has been in charge since June 12. Terapia was acquired by Ranbaxy in the wake of a transaction worth 324 million dollars.
