Radu Timis drops key executive and takes the reins of his business again

05.05.2009, 17:41 22

Radu Timis, the entrepreneur that built one of the biggest family businesses in the charcuterie industry, CrisTim, took over the executive management duties of the company a week ago, after having decided to part with the company’s vice-president Gabriel Alexandru, who had supervised the reorganisation of the company from 2004 through 2009.

Alexandru left the company together with Csaba Muzsnay, the chief operating officer of CrisTim group. Alexandru was recruited in 2004, and Muzsnay in 2006, with both having previous experience of more than seven years in multinationals.
This is the first important move of an entrepreneur to return to the management of the company as a result of the economic crisis, whereas the last few years’ trend was to leave family business to managers.
"I took the reins of the factory and of the company a week ago, when Mr. Muzsnay and Mr. Alexandru decided to step down after a conversation we had," stated Radu Timis, chairman and majority shareholder of CrisTim, a company that ran an over 92 million-euro business on the charcuterie segment alone.
Timis, who had given up any involvement in the operations of the group four years ago, added he felt ready to supervise the entire business again and that his decision was influenced by the manner in which the business environment is affected by the economic crisis fallout.
"This is a time when decisions have to be made much faster and I need to implement a different working model than what I have done until now," the company’s chairman said.
Contacted by Ziarul Financiar, Gabriel Alexandru, who has supervised CrisTim group’s business as a vice-president over the last five years, confirmed the information.
