RCS&RDS launches mobile Internet in Hungary, as well

Romanian company RCS&RDS, one of the biggesttelecom operators in Central and Eastern Europe, has also launchedmobile Internet services on the Hungarian market, according to dataon the company's website. Unlike in Romania, where RCS&RDS hasbuilt its own 3G network, in Hungary the services are offeredthrough the network built by Telenor company. The service is soldunder the "Digi Move" brand and its fees start from 1,500 forints amonth (24 lei). RCS&RDS officials had not answered ZF'squestions on the matter by edition close.

RCS&RDS also launched mobile phone services in Italy and Spainwithout building its own network.
After Romania, Hungary is the second-biggest market for RCS&RDSin terms of number of clients. The operator controlled by RomanianZoltan Teszari is no. 2 on the Hungarian television servicesmarket, with 25.9% of the market, according to data from December2010 published by the regulatory authority. In December 2009,RCS&RDS had a 23.4% share of the Hungarian television market.No. 1 on Hungary's television segment is UPC, while DeutscheTelekom is no. 3.
