Rompetrol's charter flight arm banks on 4m-euro revenues

30.05.2007, 19:13 12

Eurojet charter flights operator, part of Rompetrol group, has budgeted double turnover for this year, to around 4m euros, on customer portfolio expansion. Last year, Eurojet's number of customers advanced by 30% against 2005.
"We plan to both strengthen our position on the market of VIP charter flights and also expand our customer portfolio by developing new products and services," said the company's representatives.
Thus, Eurojet last year introduced air transport auxiliary services, such as limo reservations, hotel room rental or theatre ticket booking. Eurojet operates both flights on demand for individuals and flights in partnership with travel agencies.
"This year, we want to strengthen our collaboration with travel agencies in Romania and from other countries," said the company's representatives.
Thus, Eurojet has sealed partnerships with Happy Tour, Accent Travel Plus and Liberty International.
Though Rompetrol is still a very important customer for the company, the number of flights operated for customers outside Rompetrol group is rising. The company's representatives did not specify the weight of flights operated for Rompetrol in Eurojet's turnover. The company's fares start from 2,500 euros per hour.
"At present, Eurojet has more than 200 loyal customers, from only 4-5 at the time the company was set up in 2004. The company's customers include Romanian and foreign businessmen, national and multinational companies, travel agencies, banks, embassies, international brokers, artists, athletes or sport clubs," said the company's representatives.
Foreign destinations in highest demand are Belgrade, Nice, Verona, Florence, Sofia, Montpellier, Geneva, Rijeka, Sarajevo, Paris, London, Moscow, Kiev, Odessa, Lvov, Tbilisi, Astana or Almaty, generally cities that do not have direct connections on regular flights.
The company annually operates over 1,100 hours of flight, having its own fleet of 2 executive jet-type aircraft. However, Eurojet offers its customers other types of aircraft as well, by sealing partnerships. The overall charter flight market is expanding on economic growth.
"(...) We expect flight hours to increase by at least 20% this year," said Eurojet representatives.
