Romtelecom and Cosmote get Raiffeisen Bank's telecom services account

The mixed sales team of Cosmote and Romtelecom, two of thelargest telecom operators on the market, with the same majorityshareholder, last year gained the telecom account of RaiffeisenBank, one of the biggest integrated communication servicescontracts in Romania, worth several million euros a year, accordingto the data obtained by ZF. Romtelecom had been providing telecomservices to the bank since 2005, so that the main novelty broughtby the contract signed last year is Raiffeisen Bank's decision toreplace its previous provider of mobile telephony services,Vodafone, with Cosmote. Employees' phone numbers remainedunchanged, but were transferred from Vodafone to Cosmote network,according to the data available on portabilitate.ro website.Raiffeisen has over 6,000 employees. Vodafone also provided fixedcommunication services to Raiffeisen, but it is not clear whetherthe bank kept such services or not. Contacted by ZF, Vodafonerepresentatives did not comment on the information by editionclose.
