SEWS Deva subsidiary to produce wiring systems for Renault

The Deva subsidiary of Sumitomo Electric Wiring System, a producer of wiring systems for the car industry, has been audited by Renault, so that more than 10 million car wiring systems will be produced by the Hunedoara county-based firm from for French carmaker. According to Laura Dima, HR manager at the Deva plant, this opportunity will help create a further 500 new jobs in the city. The company is part of Japanese group, Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, which opened its first Romanian plant in Deva, in 2000. Sumitomo is the biggest employer in Deva, with over 1,400 employees. The company's management forecasts this year's turnover to be worth more than 100m euros and has therefore maintained an almost flat level since 2006, after constantly registering. over 60% increases between 2002 and 2005.
