Germany's industrial group Siemens says things have gone well inRomania for the oil&gas sector, a unit employing around 150people and standing all chances of reaching a 10% weight in theoperations the group carries out in Romania .
"The crisis hit the energy field much later than expected, butowing to the orders we had, whose duration exceeded two years, there was not a significant impact over Siemens' operations.Meanwhile, Siemens started receiving a growing number of orders, sothat the backlog is starting building up again," explains PeterGrobmueller, the head of the company's oil & gas unit.
According with the latest estimates by Siemens representatives, thegroup's turnover in Romania is set to reach 260m euros, flat from2009.
The Siemens official says the following years will bring asignificant increase in demand of products and services for the oiland gas industry. According to him, even though the major energyprojects such as Nabucco, South Stream or the recently promotedAGRI do not materialize, the field will grow anyway in Romania inthe next five years.
"For Siemens , Romania 's oil and gas market is obviously the mostinteresting in CEE. (...),"Grobmueller says.
